I am interested in the ways in which birds are affected by anthropogenic change, and how climate change impacts avian populations by altering phenology and trophic interactions, as well as exacerbating existing threats from human activity.

My PhD focuses on finding quantitative ways to assess multiple pressures on seabirds, in order to understand how they vary spatially and temporally, and by species. Working with the JNCC, we will then hopefully be able to make evidence-based recommendations for the best use of conservation resources in their protection.
